Contrast management:

Fab Lorraine Living Lab

Step into the fourth dimension of innovation.

The result of the 1st French FabLab set up in an engineering school in 2010, the LF2L is a teaching and research platform of the ENSGSI and its ERPI laboratory, which brings together facilities to accelerate creation and collaborative innovation for the uses of tomorrow.

The originality of LF2L lies in its ability to welcome, support and involve different audiences via a scientific and technical system capable of accelerating the transition from abstract ideas or concepts (2D) to their materialisation (virtual or prototyped 3D) by evaluating them (4D – development scenarios).

Many communities can access the platform’s resources :

  • Students, as part of courses (mechanical design, model making, prototyping, etc.) or through the GSILab student association for personal projects,
  • Academics; researchers at the ERPI laboratory are working, among other things, on the capacity of SMEs and SMIs to innovate, the recycling of raw materials for additive manufacturing, the inclusion and involvement of users in projects (Living Lab), evaluation through use, collaborative methodologies for smart cities, immersive devices, creativity, innovation spaces, etc.
  • Companies, for partnerships tailored to their needs,
  • institutions and local authorities, for their collaborative innovation projects serving citizens,
  • Makers, in conjunction with the NyBi association.
